HSE Southern Capital and Estates will appoint a Competent Aspergillus Sampling Consultant to the South West (Cork / Kerry), to provide services, planned and reactive testing for all Health Care facilities within South West (Cork / Kerry region) The Contracting Authority intends to enter into a Term Contract with the Tenderer which is successful in the competition for the South West (Cork / Kerry Region) Reporting to the Capital and Estates Office for- the South West (Cork / Kerry region) the selected Consultant will provide a service for all HSE Health Care Facilities within Cork / Kerry. The service will include the carrying out of microbiological sampling to detect levels of Aspergillus species present in the air at various pre-selected locations throughout the identified Health Care facility. Microbiological sampling will be taken and samples are to be submitted for analysis to an independent laboratory accredited in the appropriate methodology and staffed by technicians, experienced in accepted procedures. Sampling is to be taken using a Laminar flow air sampler which draws a known volume of air across an agar plate. The plates are then to be sent for incubation and analysis to determine the quantity of Aspergillus, species present. The Health Protection Surveillance Centre (HPSC), 2018 guidelines for the prevention of Nosocomial Aspergillosis are to be adhered to on all reports. Reports including calibration certificates to be issued to Capital and Estates in a timely manner (10 Days). It may also be necessary to carry out works in conjunction with other contractors (Electrical, Mechanical, building etc.), when appropriate. The HSE cannot guarantee the numbers of personnel required at any one time or what work load will be. The objectives of the HSE Capital and Estates Dept for implementation by the Consultant are: - Ensure that the HSE’s responsibilities under relevant statutory legislation and recommended guidelines are fully satisfied. - Ensure the health, safety and comfort of occupants of the buildings. - HSE Capital and Estates Department is issuing this Suitability Questionnaire inviting expressions of interest under the Open Procedure/ tender Process.. The purpose of stage 1 i.e the Evaluation stage is to obtain information from applicants to determine their suitability on the basis of financial capacity, technical capacity and relevant experience to carry out the contract. The Contracting Entity reserves the right, to enter into a contract with a second supplier given the geographical locations of the works. No work will be guaranteed and will only be utilised if the top ranking tenderer passes on the work or is unable to carry out the works within the given timeframe. The HSE does not make any guarantee in regard to the award of any contract and/ or the volume or value of works/ supply/ services to be procured over the lifetime of the contract. The Contracting Entity also reserves the right to procure requirements falling within the scope of the Contract outside the Contract.
