BME EEA 11-2022 Recycling of used grit

Description

Bergen municipality, c/o the Urban Environment Agency, intends to enter into a contract with a tenderer that can recycle used grit. The contract concerns cleaning of collected grit after the end of the winter season. The cleaning process will recycle the grit so that it can be reused in next season's winter operations. The cleaning process must be carried out locally and at a plant that is approved to conduct this type of work. Lot 1: The tenderer of this contract will carry out the receipt, temporary storage, sorting and cleaning of delivered used grit. This process will result in a product that can be used as new, recycled grit. This work requires the tenderer to have the necessary permits from the relevant pollution authority in order to carry out the process. Furthermore, the tenderer must deliver the recycled grit to the contracting authority's warehouses. The grit will be collected after the end of the winter season by the contracting authority's operations contractors and delivered to the tenderer where the grit will be recycled. Mistakes often occur during collection. The tenderer must be able to receive materials with used grit in the period 1 April to 15 June. The contract´s scope The expected annual amount of used grit that will be delivered is approx. 1000-1500 tonnes. The contract is managed by the Urban Environment Agency, but may be opened to other agencies in Bergen municipality so that they can clean grit from their winter operations.
