T25/26-061 ROI Trade Programme (2025–2026)

Description

Lisburn and Castlereagh City Council (LCCC) seeks to appoint a suitably qualified delivery agent to design, manage and execute a bespoke Cross Border Trade Programme. By facilitating cross-border trade missions and granting local businesses access to the Republic of Ireland (ROI), the programme will increase incidences of business growth, reduce reliance on domestic markets, and enhance economic resilience, with an increased prospect for better quality jobs and local wealth creation. Following the UK’s exit from the European Union, Northern Ireland retains unique access to both the GB and EU goods markets. This makes it the only place where businesses can trade goods to both GB and EU without customs declarations, rules of origin certificates, or non-tariff barriers. The ROI Trade Programme will open new export avenues across a range of sectors — from manufacturing/advanced manufacturing and technology to food/drink and professional services — supporting both seasoned exporters and first-time international traders. Given its cross-border nature, this programme will be delivered in collaboration with InterTradeIreland, whose aim is to connect and help businesses across the island to trade, collaborate, innovate, and attract investment.
