Published
Description
London South Bank University (LSBU), through their department of Research, Enterprise and Innovation (REI) manages a portfolio of projects supporting start-ups and SMEs through knowledge exchange, and collaborative research and development to develop new products, processes and services. To learn more please visit www.sbi.business. One these projects is Accelerating the Creative Economy through Immersive Technology (ACE IT), which supports immersive technology start-ups and SMEs. The project was launched in April 2019 and concludes June 2022. ACE IT assists SMEs through tailored one to one support, workshops and academic collaboration, to build knowledge & skills as well as designing, evaluating and supporting the launch of new products and services. This support is provided by external subject matter experts, LSBU academics across our School of Arts and Creative Industries and UAL’s academics from the London College of Communication. ACE IT is currently transitioning its delivery model, from an open programme accepting applications on a rolling basis, to a cohort approach. This new approach encompasses: Two cohorts in 2021, each lasting approximately 2-3 months. Each company will receive support through monthly one-to-ones with a consultant or mentor (the tenderer), progress meetings with the ACE IT Project Team, peer-to-peer support through a dedicated communication platform, and group workshops. Companies may receive additional ad-hoc one-to-one support from other consultants, or LSBU academics, to provide relevant subject matter expertise depending on their needs Companies who meet supplemental qualifying criteria will also be able to collaborate with LSBU academics on research and development activities for their new products and services
