Description

The Infrastructure and Environment, Solid Waste department manages waste streams for the Government of Jersey (the Authority). The Authority seeks to identify and engage suitably qualified and experienced commercial operators capable of collecting and processing specified material streams and where necessary arranging for their transport to appropriate processing facilities. The separated waste streams comprise of dry recyclables and portable batteries collected through the following routes: Parish run kerbside schemes; GoJ bring banks; GoJ drop off points. Currently the categories of materials collected separately through these routes are: 1. Cardboard; 2. Paper (Mixed paper, newsprint and pamphlets); 3. Plastic bottles; 4. Mixed household metals (Tins and cans etc.); 5. Portable batteries. The department is looking to identify suitably qualified operator(s) to: Provide collection services for specified materials from GoJ managed sites; Receive and prepare for recycling specified material streams generated in Jersey; Comply with the requirements of any relevant local legislation.
