Cavan County Council intends to appoint a suitability qualified building contractor to carry out the construction works of the Shannon Pot Discovery Centre and Cavan Burren Park, Co. Cavan. The sites are approx. 5km apart: 1. Development of a new entrance road, upgrade of existing carpark, new Discovery Centre and new walkways at Shannon Pot in the townlands of Derrylahan, Co. Cavan. The development may be carried out in phases subject to available funding. The proposed development will include the following: I. New access road and gateway to Shannon Pot Carpark from R206 II. Alterations and extension to existing carpark at Shannon Pot. III. New walkways including high-level timber walkways, low-level timber boardwalks and gravel pathways. IV. New interpretation installations, signage, and auxiliary landscape works. V. New single storey Shannon Pot Discovery Centre building and auxiliary works 2. Development of new barrier, alterations to existing carpark and existing visitor facilities, new walkways, and new amphitheatre at Cavan Burren Park in Burren, Blacklion, Co. Cavan. The development may be carried out in phases subject to available funding. The proposed development will include the following: I. New walkways including high-level timber walkways, low-level timber boardwalks and gravel pathways. II. Upgrade of the existing walkways III. Alterations to existing carpark at Cavan Burren Park IV. Installation of new amphitheatre at Cavan Burren Park V. Installation of new entrance barrier to Cavan Burren Park
