Description
The Landmark Trust is seeking to procure specialist civil engineering services and landscape architecture services in relation to Mavisbank, Midlothian (the Project). Lot 1: The Trust wishes to procure a comprehensive Design Team to develop the detailed design, secure the necessary approvals and then oversee the delivery and implementation of a new access drive to Mavisbank House and pavilions. A RIBA Stage 2 Report was prepared by Ironside Farrar in 2023 which sets out the proposed route of the new drive. The full report will be provided to the preferred bidder upon appointment. The Trust expects that the Design Team will comprise a multi-disciplinary team including: -Civil Engineers (lead) -Landscape architects -Heritage specialists -Ecology specialists -Arboriculture specialists -Principle Designer services/CDMC -Planning, Roads Consenting and Building Control expertise Prospective suppliers may wish to include additional specialists in order to deliver the project and are encouraged to do so where they consider it will add value. The team will need to have specialist knowledge and experience of working in historic landscapes and within a broader portfolio of work. An understanding of the complexities of running NHMF and NLHF funded projects would be beneficial. All sub-consultants will be directly commissioned by the consultant as part of their design team. Please note that a Quantity Surveyor is being procured by the Client however the Access Drive Consultancy Team will require to include all Quantity Surveying services necessary to cost, tender and administer the implementation contract for the Access Drive. The services contract will comprise two elements: - Package A: RIBA 2-3: Completion of RIBA stage 2 and 3 for Phase 1 works to deliver the new Access Drive including the submission of a planning application together with any roads related consents required such as Section 56 and/or Road Construction Consent applications to Midlothian Council. - Package B: RIBA Stages 4-7: If the land acquisition strategy is successful and planning permission is granted the services contract will progress to the completion of RIBA Work Stages 4-7 and the successful delivery of the works..
