Description

The proposed Glasshoughton Southern Link Road scheme extends the existing Whistler Drive and links into the Coalfields Link Road at the Flass Lane/Cutsyke Road/Premier Way roundabout. The works consist of the construction of approx. 1 km of single carriageway road with all ancillary earthworks and drainage. The road will be 7,3 m wide with a 2,0 m footway to the southern flank and a 3,5 m shared footway/cycleway to the northern flank. The eastern end of the road requires the construction of a substantial earthworks embankment, changes to existing ponds, construction of new ponds and overflow system The western end ties in to an existing roundabout and changes will be required to this roundabout while maintaining traffic flows at all times. Approx 1km of single carriageway highway with ancillary earthworks and drainage.
