Description
NHS Wales Shared Services Partnership (NWSSP) is seeking to award suitably qualified bidders onto an all Wales pathology consumables framework agreement. The framework agreement will be a non-ranked framework agreement for a duration of four (4) years from go live. The invitation to tender is broken down into 25 lots, bidders may bid for one or all lots. For further information please refer to the invitation to tender document and appendices found at www.etenderwales.bravosolution.co.uk Lot 1: Urine Collection Containers/Tubes/Bottles. This lot comprises any device used to collect a urine sample, this lot includes larger containers required for 24-hour urine sample. Lot 2 Swabs. This Lot comprises Plain and Transport Swabs used to collect & transport bacteriological, serological & cytological samples. Lot 3 pH Indicator Strips, sticks or rolls used to test fluids such as urine or saliva for use within the laboratory Lot 4 Dishes comprises plastic petri dishes (well and non-well, vented and non-vented) used for culturing bacteria and other micro-organisms in the laboratory. Lot 5 Cell Culture Plates comprises plastic trays with a specific number of wells, e.g. 24 well or 96 well, used for analytical research and clinical diagnostic testing within the laboratory. Lot 6 Universal Containers comprise of containers used for the collection and storage of biological matter including urine and faecal samples. Lot 7 Pipettes (Disposable) comprise disposable pipettes used to transport a measured volume of liquid. Lot 8 Tips (Disposable) comprises disposable tips for attaching to a range of or a specific brand of pipette. Used for accurate uptake and dispensing of liquids. Lot 9 Specimen Bags and Specimen Containers are used for the safe and convenient storage, transport and disposal of laboratory specimens. This Lot will include a range of sizes. Lot 10 Cardboard Boxes for Cassette and Slide Storage includes boxes in a range of sizes, used for the storage and long-term archiving of laboratory slides and histopathology sample cassettes. Lot 11 Tubes, Caps and Lids comprises Laboratory tubes in range of sizes, made from plastic or glass, varying in purpose. This Lot explicitly excludes Blood Collection Tubes which are covered on a current All Wales Contract. Lot 12 Inoculation Loops & Needles are used mainly by microbiologists to retrieve an inoculum from a culture of microorganisms. The loop is used in the cultivation of microbes on plates by transferring inoculum for streaking. Lot 13 Microscope Slides includes range of various coatings, uncoated, coloured and various edges for slides used within Histology and Microbiology laboratories. Lot 14 Coverslips used to protect the microscope's objective lens from contacting the specimen and creates an even thickness (in wet mounts) for viewing. Lot 15 Storage Jars/Tubs are used for collecting and disposing of waste such as loops, cotton wool, wipes and other small hazardous waste in every day microbiology or pathology procedures. Lot 16 Vial/Bijou comprises small glass or plastic vessel or bottle, often used to store medication such as liquids, powders or capsules. Lot 17 Blades include disposable blades used in Mortuary and Histology settings, in various sizes. Lot 18 Stains include all stains used for staining cells. Used within Histology and Microbiology laboratories. Lot 19 Paraffin Wax for Tissue Processor is used to impregnate tissue prior to sectioning thin samples of tissue. Lot 20 Biopsy Pads and Wraps are made from open-celled foam, which allows fluids to transfer safely and thoroughly around tissue while holding the specimen securely. Biopsy wraps are small sections of tissue paper used to locate small biopsy specimens following paraffin infiltration. Lot 21 Knives include disposable Lung, Cartlidge and Brain knives in various sizes used in Histology and Mortuary. Lot 22 Cassettes are disposable plastic cassettes to hold tissue specimens during processing and embedding as well as in storage. Lot 23 Filter Paper is used within the Laboratory to separate solids from liquids as part of qualitative analytical separations. A range of grades are required. Lot 24 Blotting Paper is used to remove excess liquids before viewing. Lot 25 Cuvette is a piece of laboratory equipment that is intended to hold samples for spectroscopic analysis.
