Description

North Somerset Council is seeking a specialist supplier to design, build and hand-over an intuitive, GIS-based visualisation platform that shows in near-real time how changes to drains, sluices and other control structures affect water levels on the Gordano, Tickenham-Nailsea and Kenn peat moors. The tool must operate both online and fully offline, let non-technical users adjust a water-level slider, toggle existing structures, sketch hypothetical bunds or weirs, and instantly see the knock-on effects from Internal Drainage Board scale down to individual farm gutters. It must integrate LiDAR-derived terrain, the new 1D-2D hydraulic model and predefined seasonal scenarios, while redrawing inundation maps in under a second and maintaining at least ten frames per second on a typical laptop.
