Description

Improvement of M4 Junction 16. The work consists of: Creating a right hand turn for Swindon traffic turning onto Hays Lane using 1 signalised junction. Constructing a new signalised junction for traffic joining Hay Lane from J16. Widening the M4 westbound and eastbound off-slip to 4 lanes. Widening the circulation carriageway on the Great Western Way approach, and suitable modifications to all other junction approaches. Modifying and relocating road signage, road markings and surface water drainage systems to suit the final carriageway location and configuration. The contract is expected to take 3 years including the construction and maintenance period. This requirement is for provision of works for the junction 16, M4 roundabout and surrounding road network. The contract will last for 3 years, with 18 months for the construction phase and at least 12 months for maintenance. This opportunity has not been split into lots, as the Authority requires a single Contractor to manage all the works on the site.
