Revision Analysis Framework for National Accounts

Description

The purpose of this contract is to define such a comprehensive framework for performing the revision analysis of national accounts statistics at annual and sub-annual frequencies and to propose the use of improved indicators and demonstrate their application. Through the implementation of the framework in its entirety, users and data compilers of macroeconomic statistics should be able to understand and interpret the results of the revision analysis, identify weaknesses in revision practices and use the results of the revision analysis in designing better estimation methods. Task 1 requires: literature review of currently used approaches for revision analysis; Task 2 requires: improved theoretical framework for revision analysis of national accounts; Task 3 requires: proposal of revision indicators to be used in the revision analysis framework and possible development of new/improved indicators of national accounts; Task 4 requires: application of the revision analysis framework of national accounts; Task 5 requires: presentation to the NAWG.
