Description

DTU plans to purchase VSP-P1 NanoPrinter, which makes high-purity, pure element & multi-alloy nanoparticles (i.e., alkali metals, alkaline earth metals, transition metals, post-transition metals, metalloids, elements from the carbon group, nitrogen group, oxygen group and rare earth elements from the lanthanide series) via gas-phase production & low-energy impact directly deposited at near atmospheric pressure onto various substrates. The particles are consistently below 10 nm in size, a critical requirement for catalysis, where the typical size is around 5 nm. These particles are made at a high rate and can be deposited on many different substrates, supporting scalable manu-facturing for high-throughput testing. The system is modular, safe to use, with an enclosed and detachable nanoparticle reactor easily transferable to a fume hood for manipulation. It supports simultaneous deposition on various sub-strates, from small atomic-scale samples to large membranes and scales to multi-target setups for high-entropy alloys and oxides. It can also scale up to industrial production levels, increasing capacity to 10,000 times, vital for capital expenditure.
