Description
Land reclamation of the Stadt Moers Park, there has been a requirement to monitor and manage the methane coming from the buried refuse, so as to avoid this material contaminating the watercourse and poisoning local biodiversity. Since the early 2000's the process for managing methane on the site has been done through extracting ground water from a well and releasing the methane through the methane extraction plant located on site. This needs continual maintenance, management and monitoring to ensure methane levels remain within agreed parameters.
