Description

A new regional biosolids storage facility and associated site infrastructure Lot 1: A new regional biosolids storage facility and associated site infrastructure The Contracting Entity plans to construct the following: A new regional biosolids storage facility and associated site infrastructure on an 11 hectare site located on the eastern side of the N2 and within the townland of Newtown, Dublin 11. This is in accordance with Irish Water’s National Wastewater Sludge Management Plan which recommended the development of regional facilities for the storage of biosolids. Scope of works for this competition • Detailed design and construction of a biosolids storage facility with 2 No. architectural designed buildings with curved roofs with insulated metal cladded panels with reinforced concrete retaining wall up to approx. 7m high. The approximate size of the buildings (to be built in 2 No. Phases) are 105m long and 50 m wide internally and with a clearance height of approx. 11.25m to the soffit/trusses. This will also include Odour Control and Photovoltaic (PV) technology within the design to contribute clean renewable energy to the power requirements of the facility. • Detailed design and construction of a Building Management System (BMS) which will be installed to facilitate the management of various systems throughout the storage facilities including odour control system, security alarms, fire alarm system and roller shutter doors. • Detailed design and construction of a new administration and welfare building which will contain an office, a meeting room, toilets, a changing/locker room, a kitchen/canteen and a washroom. The approximate dimensions of the one story building will be 10m wide and 13m long with associated car parking. • Detailed design and construction of general site infrastructure to service the biosolids facility including (but not limited to) demolition of existing structures and sections of existing internal roads and provision of new internal road network. Upgrades to existing foul and surface water drainage networks including attenuation, pumping station upgrade and water reuse. An upgrade to the power supply including demolition of the existing sub-station and design of a new substation, Upgrade to the existing water supply infrastructure and provide necessary water storage for firefighting. • All other infrastructure works including but not limited to utilities, landscaping, fencing and ancillary works. • Carry out the roles of Designer, Project Supervisor Design Process, Project Supervisor Construction Stage, Assigned Designer (BCAR) and Contractor as per the Safety, Health and Welfare at Work (Construction) Regulations 2013
