The Commissioners of Public Works in Ireland and Westmeath County Council are working together to advance proposals to deal with flooding issues in Athlone, Co. Westmeath. Westmeath County Council are the contracting authority for the Athlone Flood Alleviation Scheme. Work is being undertaken for the Scheme by OPW Direct Labour. A tender competition is being advertised for the design, supply, installation, commissioning, testing and certification of glass wall flood defences for the Athlone Flood Alleviation Scheme using the Short Form Public Works Contract. The Commissioners of Public Works in Ireland will be the Contracting Authority for the Contract that is formed with the successful tenderer.
