Replacement Vacuum Plant at Ysbyty Cwm Rhondda Hospital

Cwm Taf Morgannwg University Health Board intends to award a contract to M&M Medical Ltd for the supply, installation, testing, and commissioning of a replacement medical vacuum plant at Ysbyty Cwm Rhondda Hospital. This requirement has been assessed against available procurement routes. Due to the specialist nature of the works and the need for full compatibility with existing medical gas systems, an open or competitive tender was deemed inappropriate. M&M Medical Ltd is the incumbent supplier, having originally installed and currently maintaining the medical gas infrastructure at Ysbyty Cwm Rhondda Hospital. The goods and services required are of the same nature and must be fully compatible with existing provisions and systems, many of which were originally installed and are currently maintained by M&M Medical Ltd. Following assessment, a direct award route has been selected under the Procurement Act 2023 Schedule 5, Section 7 (2) The public contract concerns the supply of goods, services or works by the existing supplier which are intended as an extension to, or partial replacement of, existing goods, services or works in circumstances where —   (a) a change in supplier would result in the contracting authority receiving goods, services or works that are different from, or incompatible with, the existing goods, services or works, and   (b) the difference or incompatibility would result in disproportionate technical difficulties in operation or maintenance. ## Contract award Title: Replacement Vacuum Plant at Ysbyty Cwm Rhondda Hospital
