Description

The objective of this Market Consultation is for the NTA to gauge the market interest in this On-bus Works multi-vendor Framework Agreement approach, to ask the market some questions on its approach and its assumptions and to use information gathered to amend our requirements. The NTA is currently in procurement for two major projects: NG AVL – “Next Generation Automatic Vehicle Location”;  and NGT – “Next Generation Ticketing”. These procurements will turn into implementation projects starting in Q4 2023 and they will require vehicle location, displays, sensors and ticketing equipment to be installed on all NTA buses (existing and new) in the coming years. The NTA proposes to procure a multi-lot Framework Agreement approach. The Framework Agreement will provide a shortlist of suitably skilled and experienced service providers who can tender for future on-bus work based on lots as and when it is required to support the projects and ongoing operations. Lot 1: The objective of this Market Consultation is for the NTA to gauge the market interest in this On-bus Works multi-vendor Framework Agreement approach, to ask the market some questions on its approach and its assumptions and to use information gathered to amend our requirements. The NTA is currently in procurement for two major projects: NG AVL – “Next Generation Automatic Vehicle Location” NGT – “Next Generation Ticketing” These procurements will turn into implementation projects starting in Q4 2023 and they will require vehicle location, displays, sensors and ticketing equipment to be installed on all NTA buses (existing and new) in the coming years. The NTA proposes to procure a multi-lot Framework Agreement approach. Lots are considered appropriate for this activity as there will be different skill sets and services required that may not be offered by one supplier. The Framework Agreement will provide a shortlist of suitably skilled and experienced service providers who can tender for future on-bus work based on lots as and when it is required to support the projects and ongoing operations. The four expected lots are: Lot 1 – On bus IT installation activity – e.g. the Retrofit Bus works outlined below and similar Lot 2 – On bus fabrication works – e.g. installation of poles, installation of security screens, modification thereof Lot 3 – Installation locations – a location where buses can be taken for installation activity. This may be required for any works outlined in this market consultation Lot 4 – Provision of equipment or accessories – this might include the Demarcation Point, cabling or other items needed for any works On bus IT installation work may require very different skillsets from fabrication activity. Likewise, the suppliers of an installation location and cabling will be very different and will be separated into suitable lots. It is unlikely that any single supplier will be able to satisfy all requirements. The value related to the framework is estimate only.
