Description

The LGMA currently provides hosting to local authorities & LGMA business units from a primary and a secondary datacentre. Due to redevelopment, we must move/migrate/rebuild our secondary datacentre services as quickly as possible to alternative locations by the 31st December 2017. The existing main firewall infrastructure in the secondary site is two clusters of Checkpoint R75 firewalls on old Dell Poweredge servers. The infrastructure is managed by our network management provider, Exigent. This complex multi-DMZ setup will not be moving to the new site. Instead we are taking the opportunity to reduce the required DMZs to the 6 required for DR purposes and replacing the 2 clusters of old firewalls with a pair of new Checkpoint appliances more suited to this new role.
