Acquisition of a Carl ZEISS Light Sheet 7 to the Core Facility for Integrated Microscopy

Light Sheet microscopy is the technology of choice to image large multicellular systems live and cleared. CFIM users are in high need to cover imaging of models such as embryos, spheroids, whole organs and others. CFIM will purchase two light sheets to cover a wide range of sample sizes and applications from live to fixed and cleared samples. The only microscope available currently in the market with such flexibility is the Light Sheet 7 (LS7). CFIM users focus in a broad range of life science applications – it is thus critical for CFIM to purchase a light sheet that can cover as many applications as possible – the LS7 can perform high resolution and fast imaging of both live and fixed and cleared samples up to 1centimeter. In addition, the LS7 runs with the ZEN software, which will allow CFIM users to use the correlative and image analysis pipelines that CFIM has implemented in the last years.
