This is a contract award notice CWM currently controls approximately 27 500 tonnes per annum of local authority collected residual waste and approximately 3 500 tonnes per annum of waste from commercial and/or industrial sources, all from within the administrative area of Carmarthenshire County Council. This waste is currently sent to energy from waste facilities, and will form the contract waste from the service commencement date. These tonnages are intended as a guide only, and the amount of contract waste from within the administrative area of Carmarthenshire County Council to be treated under the contract could fluctuate, although the maximum tonnage is set at 35 000 tonnes per annum. By agreement with the supplier, local authority collected residual waste and/or waste from commercial and/or industrial sources of up to 50 000 tonnes per annum in aggregate from outside the administrative area of Carmarthenshire County Council. This is a contract award notice CWM currently controls approximately 27 500 tonnes per annum of local authority collected residual waste and approximately 3 500 tonnes per annum of waste from commercial and/or industrial sources, all from within the administrative area of Carmarthenshire County Council. CWM is experienced in processing residual waste, having supplied RDF to energy from waste facilities (in the UK and Europe) since 2014. CWM is looking for a waste solution that will meet the following key requirements: (a) minimise its annual spend on waste treatment and disposal; (b) provide a reliable, robust means of treating waste from July 2019; (c) treat all of CWM’s Contract Waste derived from Carmarthenshire County Council; (d) at CWM’s request, treat commercial and/or industrial waste from within Carmarthenshire Council Council’s administrative area; (e) be flexible as regards to changes in the tonnage or composition of waste resulting from future changes; (f) be flexible as to the volume of waste managed, to include, by prior agreement, contract waste from neighbouring local authority areas; (g) minimise the environmental impact of waste treatment and disposal; (h) maximise the recycling diverted from the contract waste; and (i) comply with all relevant current and future law.
