SOL - Schools Grounds Maintenance DPS

Description

Solihull Metropolitan Borough Council is to establish a Dynamic Purchasing System (DPS) covering Schools' Grounds Maintenance Services which will be open for use by Schools and other educational establishments within the Borough of Solihull.<br /><br />This broadly covers:<br />1. General Grounds Maintenance Contractors will be required to provide grounds maintenance services to schools. These include gardening, field mowing, grass cutting, grass maintenance, hard surface maintenance, shrub border maintenance, hedge and fenceline maintenance, sports pitch marking and maintenance. Other additional tasks may be required such as weed killing and general trimming to ensure school grounds consistently look professionally cared for. Seasonal requirements may include requests for leaf clearance and in times of bad weather – snow clearance<br /><br />2. Maintenance of Trees -Contractors will be required to provide a full arboricultural service that assists schools in maintaining trees including pruning, reducing in size, removing and cutting branches, stump work and removal of trees as and when required.<br /><br />3. Maintenance and Repair of Astra Turf or Artificial Surfaces - Contractors will be required to carry out services associated with the maintenance, treatment and repairs of Astro Turf or artificial surfaces in schools including 2G/3G/4G pitches<br /><br />Contractors may provide , one , two or all three of these types of services<br /><br />This DPS will be open to all types of schools included Schools controlled by the Council, Voluntary aided schools and Academy Schools to use in both the Primary and Secondary Sector.<br /><br />The DPS will be divided into 18 Lots. Each Lot will cover a geographical ward within the Borough of Solihull and within those wards will be a number of schools. Suppliers can apply join one of more Lots, or may wish to be considered for Lot 18 which covers all Lots and hence all schools within Solihull.<br /><br />For details on Wards in Solihull and maps - please go to <br />www.solihull.gov.uk/About-Solihull/Ward-local-area-profiles<br /><br />Entrance will be by a qualitative questionnaire. You will need to Opt In to view the questionnaire<br /><br />Returned Questionnaires will be assessed and upon meeting the required criteria suppliers will be admitted to the DPS.<br /><br />The DPS will be established for an Initial Term of 5 Years with a 2 year (2 x 12 months) extension option up to a maximum 7 year contract term. The DPS will remain open for new applicants to apply to join up to 15/08/2027.<br /><br />Suppliers in each lot will then be allowed to compete for individual schools or groups of schools grounds maintenance requirements as when they are put out to tender or competition by the schools concerned.<br /><br />Entry to the DPS does not guarantee any work with any of the schools concerned. Resultant individual call off contracts will be between the relevant school(s) and a successful supplier <br />
