Leeds Bradford Airport Limited (the Airport) has appointed a supplier to supply a minimum of 2 and maximum of 3 Standard 3 Explosive Detection Systems (EDS) machines for Hold Baggage Screening (HBS), which satisfy the Airport's requirements under EU Regulation 185/2010. This contract will include the design, manufacture, supply, delivery, integration, commissioning and testing of certified ECAC EDS machines, together with workstations, associated hardware, firmware, software and network infrastructure for the centralised monitoring of bag images. The machines are required for processing in-gauge baggage and must have a minimum throughput of 1 000 bags per hour. EU Regulation 185/2010 has imposed a deadline on the Airport for meeting the standards of EDS machines of 1.9.2018. The Airport has reserved the right to separately award an operational maintenance and support services agreement in respect of these machines to the successful supplier. Alternatively, this arrangement may be procured by way of an entirely separate and distinct process.
