SCTS requires the provision of Sheriff Officer and Messenger at Arms services on a national basis to support the efficient administration of court, tribunal and guardianship processes. These services include, but are not limited to, the intimation and service of documents, the execution of diligences, and the provision of reports confirming the actions taken. The majority of activities delivered under these contracts are regulated by the Act of Sederunt (Fees of Messengers at Arms, Sheriff Officers and Shorthand Writers 2018 No. 126), which defines the statutory services and associated fee structures.
