Description

NUI Galway plan to engage the services of a single point design team (SPDT) to assess the feasibility of completing an extensive renovation of the College of Science within the Arts/Science Building and to compile a thorough report which may be used in the procurement of a full design team for the actual works or part thereof in a later competition. The study which will be completed under the instruction of the NUI Galway Buildings Office needs to review and understand all aspects of the feasibility of renovating the building. A Grade 1 or grade 2 qualified conservation architects will be expected to provide architectural lead and report in conjunction with other relevant experts on both the internal and external conservation and architectural aspects of any proposed options. Civil & Structural implications of proposed options must properly investigate and reported. All existing building services must be reviewed by experienced engineers to understand the options for upgrade and/or possible replacement.
