Description

The scope of work is to deliver the Jungfrau detector modules including documentation. After installation an extended support has to be assured. The instruments at the European XFEL (XFEL.EU) need large area X-ray detectors to provide a broad range of spectroscopy, imaging and scattering techniques to the user community. In order to match the XFEL pulse characteristic, the anticipated detector system has to provide high frame rates (MHz), high dynamic range and high quantum efficiency from 2keV up to 25keV photon energy. Furthermore, the camera system has to perform under vacuum conditions. The Jungfrau detector, developed at the Paul Scherer institute, Switzerland, is currently the only system available that satisfies above stated requirements. The deliverables for each individual Jungfrau detector module are: — fully-functioning Jungfrau detector modules, — fully tested frontend electronic firmware for Jungfrau modules, — controls and DAQ software, — pre-characterization and testing at PSI, — shipping/delivery to the premisses of the XFEL.EU, — support during installation, first calibration, and initial operation at XFEL.EU, — documentation/manuals.
