Description
Cumberland council has awarded 4 providers on to the Targeted Short Break Activities for Children with Disabilities. The objective of the Targeted Short Break Activities service is to provide families of children and young people with SEND with a short break from each other. This is to give families a break from their caring responsibilities and the child or young person an opportunity to take part in a fun activity. It is the expectation that all Activities will take place in a location within Cumberland. For Activities that include day trips to outside of Cumberland, these should start from a location in Cumberland. Lot 1: Lot 1: Weekend Activities Half or full-day activities (such as sports, crafts, games, cooking, etc.) or trips that take place on a weekend. These can either be a one-off or regular weekend activities. Lot 2: Lot 2: School Holiday Activities Half or full-day activities to run during the school holidays which may include one off day trips, adventure activities or sports sessions or regular holiday clubs. Lot 3: Lot 3: School Holiday Activities in Cumberland Special Schools Half or full-day activities to run during the school holidays which are organised by and take place in, one of the Cumberland Special Schools. There is an expectation that all eligible children are able to register for activities taking place at Cumberland Special Schools. However, there is an understanding that the majority of children and young people attending these schools may have higher-level needs and that activities and staffing will reflect this. Lot 4: Lot 4: Activities based on Specific Needs Half or full-day activities designed for children and young people with specific needs. For example, this could be a sensory experience for children with autism, or an adventure activity for older teenagers. Lot 5: Lot 5: Innovation Any innovative or original activities that would not come under any of the other Lots, but which would meet an identified need of children and young people with disabilities in Cumberland.
