Description

The ability to maintain stock to meet Decent Homes and to meet Housing Health and Safety Rating System would be unachievable. The refurbishment programme for kitchens and bathrooms is required to upgrade the stock to meet standards. The contract is required to supplement LCC DSO in bringing voids kitchens and bathrooms to meet standards before re-letting, a lack of contract would impact the length of time to return voids to let. The contract is also required to carry out Adult Social Care recommendations for adaptations including Level access Showers and extensions to provide Bathing / Sleeping accommodation. There is already a long waiting list for works and a shortage of adapted stock, lack of procurement would impact both the waiting list and service users’ ability to remain in their homes or return home from healthcare settings also impacting both Social Care and NHS.
