Description

Ealing CCG has awarded a contract with general practices for a single contract of enhanced primary care services. The first phase will be effective from 1st October 2017 (Access only) with the rest of the 22 services commencing in April 2018. This will bring a range of current primary care components into a single offer of aligned and simplified Primary Care Standards. The services included are: Adult Mental Health, Diabetes, respiratory disease, cardiovascular disease, musculoskeletal health, ring pessary, care planning and coordination, end of life, wound care, phlebotomy, dementia, cancer screening, self care and patient activation, learning disabilities, carers, homeless, medicines safety and optimisation, drug monitoring — near patient monitoring, patient experience, demand management, business management, proactive care. Following its assessment, the CCG's (non-conflicted) independent review panel has recommended award of contract to 76 Ealing GP practices due to the absence of competition for technical reasons. The reasons are: the services can only be effectively and efficiently undertaken by GP practices that hold the lists of Ealing registered patients in order to provide population coverage. The services included within the contract are mutually dependent upon the core GMS/PMS/APMS Contracts held by GP practices.
