Description

1.2 NCC operates a large and complex Home to School Transport service, ensuring that children and young people — particularly those with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) — can access education safely, reliably, and in line with statutory obligations. 1.3 The service supports over 600 children and 500 adults daily, across both mainstream and SEND transport, including high-dependency and tailored mobility support. Journeys extend beyond city boundaries where required, including for children in care and those attending out-of-area placements. 1.4 To manage this service effectively, the Council uses a Passenger Transport System (PTS) to plan, schedule, monitor, and review transport operations.
