Description
The Grant Laboratory need a new high through-put, high-resolution microscope to image large, fixed, human specimens. The lab already houses 2 spinning disc microscope systems that are capable of this and we are planning to purchase something equivalent, but state-of-the-art, to improve imaging quality and speed up data acquisition. Direct Award from ranking: In 2020, CCBS undertook an open EU Tender for a Spinning Disc Microscope. That direction was taken as the project team wanted to give suppliers a chance to bid who are not on the APUC framework. Nikon won that tender and the team have been very happy with the equipment’s capability as well as Nikon’s responsiveness. Another EU open tender was discussed however since Nikon are first ranked and they succeeded on the initial tender, it was concluded that a second tender would add little value.
