Real-time Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) equipment

4 CFX96 Touch Real-Time PCR Detection systems including software for Helse Møre og Romsdal HF (HMR) and St. Olavs hospital HF (StO) StO currently uses CFX from Bio-rad as the standard PCR instrument. I.e. all analyses are validated for this instrument and there is, therefore, a lot of flexibility in routine operations. Having many different instruments in the same routine is very disadvantageous. Analyses cannot just be transferred to another type of PCR instrument, they must be validated and adapted in a time-consuming and costly process. Different instruments will require different consumables, which is also demanding on logistics and costly. In addition, Separate systems must be developed for transferring results for each type of instrument. HMR and StO har used different PCR instruments so far as the standard instrument. HMR sees that a transition to the same type of instrument used by StO would have many advantages as regards efficiency and quality assurance of the operation: E.g. there would be access to the electronic transfer of results via the existing system. Methods could be exchanged to a greater degree, joint method testing could be carried out and joint procurements could also be made. The current instruments in HMR do not fulfil the requirements for CE marking/IVD certification (ref: the new IVD Directive). We have received tenders for 4 CFX96 Touch Real-Time PCR Detection systems with software from Bio-Rad laboratories AB, Norwegian department for 737 460 NOK, excluding VAT, with a 2 year guarantee.
