Description

The Ministry of Climate, Energy and Utilities (KEFM) produces annual projections of data centre electricity consumption as an input to our energy system model setup. KEFM wants to develop a method of projecting that can be updated and further developed in-house. The method must be based on recognized data sources (international or national organs) which are updated regularly. The objective of the task is to develop a method for projecting data centre electricity consumption from 2025 to 2050. This new method for the long term is to form part of the foundation for future analysis of the Danish energy system and be integrated into the KEFM model setup. The long-term model will be integrated into an existing framework operated by KEFM for the short and medium term solely or partly based on TSO data centre pipeline combined with a series of assumptions on e.g. time to build, capacity utilization rate and number of full load hours. The task is described in detail in Annex 1.
