Boiler House Upgrade 2014

Description

Presentation Warrenmount, Clarence Mangan Road, Dublin 8, is seeking to maximise the energy efficiency, significantly reduce the operational costs and radically improve the effectiveness of the existing space heating system. The project will include changing the combustion fuel from oil to mains gas, replacing the 35 year old boiler, including the associated equipment such as pressurisation and expansion units, and upgrading all associated electrical power and control panels within the boiler house. Increased reliability, functionality and convenience will also be delivered as part of this project. The existing oil tank is to be considered for removal. The works on the heating system will be primarily limited to the boiler house, and the area immediately surrounding it, and any works to the heating distribution system will be excluded from this project. There has been asbestos containing material identified on the boiler room and its removal shall form part of the main contractor’s package. The removal of the old boiler forms the main part of these works The current gas meter onsite is only capable of small capacities, and so will have to be upgraded by Bord Gais Networks. New pipework will also have to be installed underground from the new meter to the boiler house, a distance of approximately 50 meters. Note there is no domestic hot water being satisfied by this system and local water heaters are present.
