Meath County Council seeks to appoint a Supplier to undertake a review of the current Age Friendly Ireland publication titled “Being Age Friendly in the Public Realm – Guidelines and Good Practice” and develop an updated guidelines publication that supports design practitioners, developers, and planners with the implementation of Age Friendly and Universal Design principles in the design and delivery of outdoor spaces and buildings. These guidelines are intended to support national policy in creating Age Friendly environments to support Ireland’s ageing population. The guidelines will recognise compliance with building regulations and guidance but will include details on good practice that goes beyond minimum standards with a key focus on universal design as defined in the Disability Act, 2005.
