Description
Lawrence Sheriff School is a predominantly boys' grammar School in Rugby, Warwickshire, England and like many other schools with a long tradition, Lawrence Sheriff has a collection of classrooms from different periods which have been added over the years. Over the past 15 years, a series of refurbishments, modifications and new facilities has completely modernised the School. The Griffin Centre, Sports Hall and Studio was opened in 1996 and is frequently used by local sports groups as well as the school community. The studio is fully equipped for drama, with excellent lighting and sound facilities, although full-scale drama productions tend mainly to be staged in Big School, where larger audiences can be accommodated. The tender project is seeking to appoint a contractor whose initiative and innovation will be welcomed for the provision of cleaning services within the facilities for the school. The high quality service levels proposed, should maintain excellent standards throughout, resulting in a pleasant environment for both the students and staff. The basis and rationale that the client requires the successful contractor to operate to at all times, is being able to provide an environment that is fit for purpose and that the contractor is proactive in the management of the contract, thus ensuring that all specifications are achieved and that the frequency of cleans is as detailed within the tender specification. The contract being tendered is for 3 years in duration from 1.1.2020 until 31.12.2022, with the option to extend the contract term for a further term of up to 2 years and will be fixed price in nature, with the contractor invoicing the client for 1-twelfth of the annual cost on a monthly basis. It should be noted that the successful contractor will be expected to bring to the contract: innovation; new equipment; and cleaning methods, with BICSc standards being achieved as a minimum, thus ensuring that the highest levels of cleanliness are maintained in all areas at all times and also ensuring that the productivity of the cleaning operatives is enhanced moving forward into the new contract term. The value of the current cleaning contract is circa 120 000,00 GBP + VAT. At present 19 cleaning operatives (18 operatives on the evening shift and 3 operatives on the morning shift, 2 working both shifts) are employed to work between the hours of 7:00 - 9:00 and 15:30 - 17:30, Monday to Friday, with 1 operative working from 9:30 - 17:30, and 1 from 14:00 - 17:30. The contract supervisor undertakes non-cleaning duties, totalling 25 hours per week, which is included in the total of 237 hours per week. Full or partial area cleaning is required for 42 weeks.
