2023/25 CFT for the Provision of Strategic Consultancy Services

LMETB proposes to engage in a competition for the provision of strategic consultancy services relating to Youth Initiatives and Interventions, Cross Border Projects and Centres of Excellence including the Advanced Manufacturing and Training Centre of Excellence in Dundalk. Future FET: Transforming Learning, the National Further Education and Training (FET) Strategy 2020-2024 provides a clear policy context for the provision of high-quality further education and training responses to the needs of industry. The LMETB Advanced Manufacturing and Training Centre of Excellence grew out of an identified need to upskill trades people in anticipation of Brexit and in order to address identified industry needs. It is envisaged that the centre will continue to become a focal point for the delivery of multiple upskilling opportunities including upskilling for qualified trades persons, training for site supervisors as well as basic training for future apprentices. In addition to the training for trade persons, the centre also contains other components including a 3D design and print fabrication laboratory (FABLAB) along with other innovative technologies. Further opportunities and iniatives in the areas of youth intervention are also envisaged including opportunities arising from LMETB's strategic location on the Border with Northern Ireland and arising from the particular needs of the populations of both Louth and Meath.
