Adaptation of Traffic Light Information

Description

The R&D project NordicWay3 will install and test cooperative intelligent transport systems and services (C-ITS) that will be ready to be used in the market in a few years. Prognoses for when signal lights will switch to the next phase is a function that will be implemented in Trondheim, Gøteborg, Stockholm and Tampere. Lot 1: In order to support R&D on testing C-ITS information in Polestar 2, TTS will adapt signal data so that up to 60 test vehicles can request the content in SPAT/MAP messages and get adapted signal status for the lane they are using. This adaptation takes down the complexity in the R&D with adapting traffic data in Polestar 2. TTS' assignments include receiving position data from test vehicles, locating them in relation to signal installations, and giving information on distance, signal picture, and coming changes. The TTS service will be active throughout the contract period. So that we can get a complete ecosystem where customer vehicles can read and use the information, a decision has been made to share from all towns to TTS (Traffic Technology Services). Sharing via TTS allows us to check and compare the quality of the prognoses as part of the R&D assignment in NordicWay3. Other vehicle manufactureres ca also use TTS services. The assignment will run until 31 December 2023.
