Leicestershire County Council and Leicester City Council (‘the Councils’) would like to consult the market in relation to provision of the removal, transportation and storage of cadavers on behalf of the HM Coroners. Please see II.2.4. Description of the procurement, for the option we are currently exploring and seeking views on. Please note this is not a final position and subject to change. Description (lots 1-9) The Councils wish to establish a framework of suitably qualified suppliers to provide full geographical coverage across the County and City. Within Leicester City and Leicestershire County, there are two HM Coroners and consequently two areas of jurisdiction. Specifically, these areas are broken down as follows: Rutland & North Leicestershire Coroner’s Jurisdiction 1 Rutland County 2 North West Leicestershire District 3 Charnwood Borough 4 Hinckley and Bosworth Borough 5 Melton Borough Leicester & South Leicestershire Coroner’s Jurisdiction 1 Blaby District 2 Harborough District 3 Oadby & Wigston 4 The City The framework would be split into 9 lots corresponding with the areas listed above. Suppliers would be able to bid for multiple lots. There would be no limit as to how may suppliers would be admitted onto each lot. The framework would operate on a rota basis within each lot, with the suppliers receiving a set fee for the services. ___________________________________________ We welcome feedback from interested Suppliers.
