Description
Crown Estate Scotland (CES) are looking to commission work for the provision of specialist energy market grid constraint advice and potential impacts. Lot 1: Crown Estate Scotland (CES) are looking to commission work for the provision of specialist energy market grid constraint advice and potential impacts. To be able to more accurately forecast and budget rental income, an expert consultant is being sought to deliver the following activities for Crown Estate Scotland: This work will be conducted in two phases as follows: Phase One: Initial Impact Assessment, Analysis, Advice & Report - Perform data analysis (and potentially modelling) of OSW production, taking into account all potential impacts of such grid constraints on production profiles including but not limited to: The number and sequence of future planned additions to the operating portfolio of Offshore Wind assets in the UK up to 2031 (Assume the Contract for Difference (CfD) delivery years for all future OSW projects). - Grid strengthening projects in the pipeline as part of The Great Grid Upgrade, an initiative led by National grid (2025–2029) to modernise and expand the UK’s electricity transmission system. This work supports the UK’s net zero and power decarbonisation targets and the commitment to connect 40GW of offshore wind to the GB grid by 2030. The work will also be to provide insights coming from any analysis to understand trends or patterns associated with application of grid constraints to Scottish OSW assets, utilising the providers knowledge of market performance. The Phase one scope will involve the following: Data gathering – the appointed consultant will initiate the work by identifying any necessary and helpful data sets to perform the analysis. Agree assumptions and scenarios – the appointed consultant will work with Crown Estate Scotland team to identify the scenarios to be analysed. Analysis and Insights – the appointed consultant shall perform the analysis work utilising the pre agreed assumptions. Report – the appointed consultant shall document all findings within a report. Supplier shall analyse the potential impact for each agreed scenario and produce a report outlining the potential effect and impacts on the Offshore Wind portfolio (at a site-by-site level) from a production output perspective. Phase Two: Ad-hoc Support Supplier shall continue to provide ongoing ad-hoc support and expertise on a call-off basis, as required.
