Manufacture and Supply of Upstream Lock Gates for Clarendon Lock

Description

The requirement of this tender is for the supply and delivery of one set of up-stream lock gates at Clarendon Lock, County Roscommon. Outline drawings have been produced for tendering purposes, but prior to commencing the production of the gates, the successful tender will be required to survey the existing gates and lock chambers, which will be made available by the installation of coffer dams and the removal of the water, by Waterways Ireland. It is provisionally envisaged that dam logs will be installed, and the lock chamber will be dewatered in October / November 2021 to allow for surveys to be undertaken. Waterways Ireland will also be surveying the lock chamber during this period to identify what additional works may be required, if any, to renovate and maintain the masonry lock structure, and to refurbish or upgrade the mechanical elements of the lock gates and sluices. The supplier will be required to submit detailed manufacture drawings for review and written approval by Waterways Ireland before gate manufacture commences.
