Virtuose 6D TAO robot providing 6 degrees of freedom haptic feedback in a large workspace typical of a robotic manipulator and it will be used in various research involving physical robotic assistance, haptic feedback, and master-slave tele-operation Under Regulation Reg 6(1)(b)(ii) of the Procurement (Scotland) Regulations 2016, a contracting authority may award a contract without competition based on the following justification: Competition is absent for technical reasons (only if it is not caused by artificial narrowing down of the parameters of the procurement and no reasonable alternative or substitute exists) Explanation: This is a specialized haptic robot that no other company can supply. The Virtuose 6D TAO robot provides 6 degrees of freedom haptic feedback in a large workspace typical of a robotic manipulator and it will be used in various research involving physical robotic assistance, haptic feedback, and master-slave tele-operation. Package includes license Virtuose API, Extended button box, Ethernet or Ethercat interface, Upgrade to 70N & peak 30N. The principal purpose of the contract is to acquire goods in connection with research undertaken by the University.
