Description

The Scalpay Community Association is seeking a suitably qualified contractor to deliver the first phase of redevelopment works at the Scalpay Community and Heritage Facility. The contract will involve significant building fabric and energy efficiency upgrades to an existing community hall, transforming it into a modern, warm, and low-carbon facility. The scope of works includes: Comprehensive insulation upgrades to roof, walls, and floors. Replacement of all windows and doors to improve thermal performance. Removal of the existing oil heating system and installation of a smart-controlled air source heat pump (ASHP). Installation of solar photovoltaic panels with battery storage to reduce reliance on grid electricity. Essential repairs and re-roofing to stabilise the building. Internal alterations to create a flexible community space, basic kitchen, and accessible sanitary facilities. The contract will be delivered under a single stage competitive tender, with work expected to commence in late 2025 following award and building warrant approval and subject to securing all required funding.
