1.1. Project Capella is a new building containing state-of-the-art laboratories currently under construction for the University of Cambridge. Capella is sited at the Cambridge Biomedical Campus and is due for completion in 8.2018. Built by Kier Construction and designed by architects from the Fairhurst Design Group, the six-storey centre will be located directly next to the Cancer Research UK Cambridge Institute. The building will house three major research institutes: the Wellcome Trust-MRC Cambridge Stem Cell Institute, the Cambridge Institute for Immunotherapeutics and Infectious Disease (CITIID) and the Milner Therapeutics Institute. The building will contain state-of-the-art research facilities along with a café, seminar room and exhibition space for events. High quality tissue culture facilities are essential to the research of all 3 Institutes. Incubators to equip these laboratories are the subject of this tender. 1.1.
