Construction of new sports facilities for school

Description

A contract for the sale of playing field land at Morgan Road, Reading, part of Reading School , and the associated development of sports pitches, associated changing facilities and access and parking arrangements on retained parts of at the site and the re-provision of new sports facilities at the School's Erleigh Road campus by the purchaser. The purchaser will also be responsible for the associated planning consultancy, project management and procurement of design, engineering and other ancillary professional services relating to the works. Additional information: The contract takes the form of an option to acquire adjoining land containing obligations on the contractor to seek planning permission for the construction works on the contracting authority's retained land, with the contractor being obliged, upon the adjoining land being acquired pursuant to the option, to procure the execution and completion of the works and related services which are the subject of this notice. These works are required to replace sports facilities lost on account of the sale and to provide enhanced sports facilities on other retained land of the contracting authority and are anticipated to be required to be provided as a pre-condition of use or occupation of any development on the land sold to the contractor and are required as a condition of securing consent from DfE for sale of the land.
