PRJ-1005 City and Hackney CCG Bereavement Service

Description

This contract provide dedicated bereavement counselling service in Hackney to improve the mental wellbeing of bereaved family members, carers, relatives and friends. City and Hackney CCG is undergoing a merger with 6 other CCGs on 1-Apr-2021 and is intending to issue a short extension (6 months) to all contracts expiring on 31-Mar-2021 to provide continuity during the merger. This is under regulation 72(b)(i) and 72(b)(ii) of the Public Contracts Regulations 2015 because a change of contractor cannot be made for technical reasons and would cause significant inconvenience for the CCG. Lot 1: Bereavement services form an integral part of services for those who have experienced bereavement of various types, including loss due to ill health, violent circumstances, trauma and injury, whether expected or sudden. Individuals cope very differently when faced with loss and often experience delayed grief, some months or even years after the event. The Bereavement Service provides dedicated bereavement counselling in Hackney aiming to improve the mental wellbeing of bereaved family members, carers, relatives and friends. The service will identify those who may need more intensive input either from the service or who may benefit from referral to other services.
