Secondary school construction work

Description

Broxbourne School intends to enter into an agreement with Chase new homes limited for the sale of some of its land (the School having obtained Secretary of State consent to sell) and development on that land of school buildings and residential housing. The new school buildings are to form part of the consideration for the land. The transaction aggregates the land sale, new school building works, and housing development into a single transaction. The School selected Chase new homes limited after satisfying itself that Article 32(2)(a) (no suitable tenders and initial conditions of the contract have not been substantially altered) and (c) (extreme urgency due to unforeseeable events) apply and that therefore a contract may be awarded via use of the negotiated procedure without prior publication.
