Waterford and Wexford Education and Training Board intend appointing a single supplier to supply equipment for the Prop Making for Stunts and Set Decoration Course. Waterford and Wexford Education and Training Board intend appointing a single supplier to supply equipment for the Prop Making for Stunts and Set Decoration Course. The initial requirement under this contract is for a Laser Engraving System. Waterford and Wexford Education and Training Board invites responses (“Tenders”) to this Request for tenders (“RFT”) from economics operators (“Tenderers”) for participation in a specific contract for supply of the goods and related services (together referred to in this RFT as “the goods” as described under Section 4.1 Requirements and Specification of the RFT). Delivery of equipment will be to Waterford Training Centre, Waterford Business Park, Cork Road, Waterford. The course will utilise a laser cutter which does flatbed cutting at a laser level of detail. Without this equipment the props and miniatures cannot be produced to specification. For example, a leather book for a film can’t have any engravings other than hand cut which impacts the time – the Laser Cutter would complete this task in 15 minutes, hand cutting would take 2-3 weeks and there is also an impact on the quality It is important to note that the equipment must be fit for purpose meeting the requirements of the Instructors delivering training to Apprentices/students in a trainee workshop environment. The equipment for the training courses must be durable, robust, high quality and suited to a workshop/trainee workshop environment for Apprentices /Learners, participating in practical skills given the nature and repetitive usage of the equipment for training purposes. The equipment must meet industry standards and the requirements of the instructors delivering training to Apprentices/students in a trainee workshop environment.
