CRESCENT ROAD PHASE 2A WORKS AND FURTHER PHASES

Caerphilly County Borough Council (the Council) is seeking a Contractor to undertake streets and open spaces works (public realm works). The Phase 2A Crescent Road Park public realm works will comprise of new hard and soft landscaping, bespoke external seating, benches, planters, bespoke artwork, wayfinding, drainage and external lighting. Phases 2B – 2F will comprise: - Phase 2B - Planting, play area and other seating nodal points. - Phase 2C - Crossing point and highway works to roadways. - Phase 2D - Threshold paving, alleyways and pocket park - Phase 2E - Artists intervention works. - Phase 2F - Way finding strategy and artwork, aligned with town interventions Lot 1: Caerphilly County Borough Council (the Council) is seeking a Contractor to undertake streets and open spaces works (public realm works). Phases 2B – 2F will comprise: -Phase 2B - Planting, play area and other seating nodal points. -Phase 2C - Crossing point and highway works to roadways. -Phase 2D - Threshold paving, alleyways and pocket park -Phase 2E - Artists intervention works. -Phase 2F - Way finding strategy and artwork, aligned with town interventions The project is part funded through the UK Government’s Shared Prosperity Fund (SPF) intervention W01 and Welsh Government’s Transforming Towns funding. Due to the nature of the project involving highways and civils related works a mini competition process was undertaken via Lot 8 of the South-East Wales Highways Framework 4 (SEWH4) administered by Cardiff Council as the lead contracting authority for this framework. The Council is working with its placemaking consultants Stride Treglown and their nominated cost consultants Currie & Brown who compiled the specification of works, contractual documents and pricing schedules and will also manage the works on site. Initial specifications were reviewed by Officers from the Councils Engineering Projects Group (EPG).
