Description

Main Contractor Services in respect of the CHASE project, located on City Campus West, Newcastle upon Tyne. Lot 1: Main Contractor services in respect of the CHASE project, located on City Campus West, Newcastle upon Tyne. The University is looking to appoint a Main Contractor to deliver the project on behalf of the University. The creation of the Centre for Health and Social Equity (CHASE) will be the largest transformational project of the University’s next strategy period. The proposed development shall comprise: •the construction of a new Energy and Data Centre, to replace the existing facility under Claude Gibb, but also to provision for the northern part of the City Campus as well as including spatial and infrastructure planning for the development of a new Campus wide energy strategy. •the demolition of Claude Gibb residential block itself, including the decommissioning of the existing energy centre noted above. •the construction of the new CHASE building facilities and all associated external works and landscaping. •the provision and management by the main contractor of the decant of the services currently based at Coach Lane Campus, to the new CHASE facilities.
